WHAT TO EXPECT

Getaria is a traditional medieval fishing village which reflects its essence in the cuisine. In addition, Getaria is the cradle of some historical figures as Juan Sebastián Elcano and Cristóbal Balenciaga.

We will enjoy a tour through the old quarter of Getaria, visiting the church of San Salvador and learning about the basque naval heritage and enjoying stories about great sailors as Juan Sebastián Elcano.

After this, we will visit a Txakolindegui, winery where the famous « Txakoli », the basque sparkling wine is made, with a tasting.

For lunch, we will visit a traditional restaurant in the heart of Getaria.

Following lunch, we´ll visit Cristobal Balenciaga museum located in the new annex of Aldamar Palace. As a curiosity, its placement in a hill makes this enclave be the one which crowns the village.
