We quote a taylor-made travel for you
Delve into the seventeenth century visiting Igartubeiti farmhouse, one of the most referent Basque Farmhouse of the Golden Age. Thus enjoy the txakoli, the exclusive Basque white wine.
Day 1
Arrive in Ordizia. Guided tour to the old part and experience D’elikatuz dynamic space. It is a diet and gastronomy centre for children and adults, which consists of two thematic areas: world diets and Basque Country gastronomy throughout time; apart from many general contents about food, fairs and markets, Basque cuisine, gastronomic societies and cider houses. This place will let you discover new textures and flavours. D’elikatuz offers a large room for temporary exhibits, but we could also find concerts, conferences, campaigns and similar temporary events.
Accommodation.
Day 2
Breakfast in the hotel.
Guided tour to Igartubeiti farmhouse. Lonely, monolithic, dressed in white, self-sufficient. A unique building in the Basque Country with these characteristics: the referent farmhouse, an example of the typical Basque civil architecture between fields, mountains and forests. These strong-wall buildings were the backbone of the territory for centuries being, at the same time, houses and farms with a very marked identity.
Near Zumarraga, in the rural setting of Ezkio, we find the Igartubeiti Farmhouse, a 16th-century masonry and wood building that has reached our times in perfect conditions. The inside has been prepared for revealing the ins and outs of a baserri (farmhouse in Basque), its rooms, constructive elements and functions. The Igartubeiti has its doors wide open in order to show us how apples are pressed, how the grass is dried and the secrets the ganbara (loft) hides under the gabled roof.
Free afternoon to explore the valley.

Day 3
Breakfast in the hotel.
At the appointed time, tasting of txakoli de Getaria and Idiazabal Cheese.
A wonderful journey in search of an exclusive white wine: the Txakoli. We’ll tour the cellars where this characteristic wine is produced, hidden in the depths of labyrinths of vines, in inland settings or on the edge of coastal cliffs. This fruity, young – but closely linked to landscapes and ancient traditions – wine can only be explored in Euskadi-Basque Country.
Though Getaria Txakoli may be associated with the town that shares its name, this wine is currently produced with Designation of Origin throughout Gipuzkoa.
We suggest you explore and enjoy a Txakoli and Idiazábal cheese pairing at the hands of a renowned chef, member of Euro-Toques and Nariz de Oro (‘Golden Nose’) winner. Enjoy this pairing in the Igartza monumental complex in Beasain and taste one of the few ecological – free of pesticide and chemical fertilizer- Txakolis made in Gipuzkoa.
With a private tour guide, the schedule, duration and activities can be adjusted to meet your needs. Please, provide any special requests you have.
Please note that this tour is a culture and food tour. But, you will get a pair of local snacks in order to learn about the Basque culture and gastronomy. Please note that you will not receive a full meal.
